Crash on ice-covered road kills one, injures another
One person was killed and another person was injured in a crash after their vehicle lost control on an ice-covered road.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened on U.S. 61 in Marion County around 3 p.m.
The crash report said the vehicle lost control, struck the guardrail and overturned.
Authorities said Larry Parkes, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 35-year-old woman was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. According to the crash report, both people were wearing a seat belt.
No other vehicles were involved.
