Woman charged with robbing adult store with knife

A Columbia woman was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of robbing an adult store at knife point.

Kayla Dugan is charged with first-degree robbery and attempting to escape from police custody after police said she filled a shopping cart full of items at Passions on Tuesday and pulled a knife on an employee who tried to stop her from leaving the store.

Dugan returned to the store Wednesday and was arrested. Dugan confessed to a detective and said she had already sold the items she stole from the store, according to a probable cause statement filed in her case. She also tried to run out of the garage at the Columbia Police Department while handcuffed, but police caught up to her, the statement said.

Dugan was also arrested on warrants for failure to appear and probation violations. Her bond on the new charges was set at $100,000. She remained in the Boone County Jail on Friday morning.
