Marissa Hollowed returning to ABC 17 News
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
ABC 17 News is welcoming back a familiar face to Mid-Missouri.
We announced today Marissa Hollowed will return to the anchor desk this September.
Marissa co-anchored the evening newscasts for us from 2014 to 2017 before leaving for a job in St. Louis.
During her time here she was twice honored by the Missouri Broadcasters Association as the best anchor in the state.
Her work certainly wasn’t limited to the desk as she reported on many important stories that hit the heart of Mid-Missouri. Whether it was safety in our neighborhoods or the campus protests of 2015, Marissa was ready for the challenge.
“She’s reported on some of our area’s most important stories of the last decade and we couldn’t be getting a better person to help take us through the important stories for the next several years,” said Scott Flannigan, ABC 17 News director.
She returns with the ability and the experience to once again report on the important topics in Mid-Missouri.
“I’m a mother now and raising a young family in Mid-Missouri. The safety of this community is more important to me than ever. We all want to go home at night knowing the streets are safe, the trash is being picked up and the lights are going to work. I look forward to doing my part in bringing these stories to you once again.”, said Hollowed.
Hollowed will join ABC 17 News weeknights at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m in early September. She’ll co-anchor in the evenings with anchor/reporter Lucas Geisler and contribute to the station’s investigative unit.
