Waynesville woman stabbed to death

A Waynesville woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her grandson on Tuesday.

It happened in the 800 block of Hospital Road in Waynesville. According to court documents, Keaven Shaw woke his grandparents by standing over their bed and waving his arms and talking. Michael and Anna Pahula then made coffee and sat on the sofa while Shaw was lying on the bedroom floor.

When Anna asked Shaw why he was on the floor, he did not respond. Michael told police Anna sat on the couch, and that’s when Shaw attacked her with a knife.

Michael said he then called 911 and tried to stop the bleeding.

When Waynesville Police Officers arrived on scene, they immediately arrested Shaw.

“It was like a dream or something, and my eyes popped open or something. It was weird,” Shaw told police when they asked him who stabbed his grandmother.

Upon searching the home, police found meth in Shaw’s room.

Shaw is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He’s being held in the Pulaski County Jail on a $2 million, cash only bond.
