Cooler Saturday before warm air returns
SATURDAY: Spotty showers are moving through some of our northern counties this morning. These showers north of I-70 will continue into the later morning hours before finally ending this afternoon. As you head farther south in the viewing area this afternoon, you’ll find warmer temperatures as a warm front lifts northward. Highs will range anywhere from the low to mid 60s in our northern-most counties to the middle 70s toward Lake of the Ozarks. Clouds will begin to move out of the area as we head into the evening.
TONIGHT: Our winds will be changing direction to a more southeasterly direction throughout the day, leading to a warmer night in Mid-Missouri. Lows will only drop to the upper 50s and low 60s behind this warm front.
EXTENDED: We’ll be noticeably warmer on Sunday, as more sunshine and continued southerly flow puts our afternoon highs into the low 80s. That warmer weather is going to be sticking around through much of next week with highs in the low to middle 80s. We are continuing to track a rather weak cold front as it drops south. This will increase our rain chances Monday night and into Tuesday morning, with the best chance of seeing rain being north of I-70 once again. Another front looks to move through the area Thursday into Friday and this front looks to bring more of an impact to the area with more widespread rain chances and cooler air behind it.
