Tipton man accused of injuring officer and drug trafficking
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Tipton man is facing multiple drug charges after a drug investigation in Sept. 2021 in Jefferson City.
A Cole County prosecutor has charged Derrick Grayson with two counts of second-degree drug trafficking and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. Grayson is also facing second-degree assault charges and resisting arrest in another case.
In Sept. 2021, Jefferson City police executed a search warrant at an apartment on the 1100 block of East High Street. Police reportedly found heroin, cocaine and a digital scale. Police observed Grayson leaving the apartment before searching it, according to a probable cause statement.
On Tuesday afternoon, Jefferson City police attempted to take Grayson into custody which lead to a head injury of a Jefferson City police officer, according to the probable cause statement.
Grayson is being held at the Cole County Jail without bond.
Grayson does not have a defense attorney listed according to online court records.
