Fairly seasonal weather sticks around into the weekend
THURSDAY: Following one of the coolest mornings Mid-Missouri has seen in several months, temperatures will warm to seasonal levels. Afternoon highs under sunny skies will climb into the mid 70s, accompanied with winds shifting out of the south up to 10 mph.
TONIGHT: Temperatures tonight don’t fall quite as drastically, but it will still be cool with lows in the low 50s by morning. Winds will be out of the south from 4-8 mph under mostly clear skies.
EXTENDED: Another cold front is forecast to move through the area Friday, which will bring the return to cooler conditions as we head into the weekend. Ahead of the front temperatures will still be fairly seasonal in the lower 70s, yet slightly cooler than temperatures Thursday due to increasing clouds. As the front slowly tracks through the area, we’ll see isolated showers by Friday evening becoming more scattered as we head into Saturday. Any rain that we do see will be primarily along and north of Hwy 50 and will be light in nature. Highs Saturday will only climb into the mid to upper 60s, with the lower 60s possible in far northern Mid-Missouri. By Sunday and on into next week, the upper level ridge builds back over the area, which means the return of warmer air and afternoon highs in the 80s and nights warming into the 60s. Monday and Tuesday remain unseasonably warm with temperatures in the low 80s. More storm chances move in next Wednesday night with a cold front that will cool us down for the end of next week.
