Coldest morning yet this season, followed by beautiful afternoon

THURSDAY: After a chilly morning, temperatures will climb into the low to mid 70s in the afternoon under mostly sunny skies. Winds will shift to the south up to 8 mph.

TONIGHT: Temperatures tonight don’t fall quite as drastically, but it will still be cool with lows in the low 50s by morning. Winds will be out of the south from 3-6 mph under mostly clear skies.

EXTENDED: Another cold front is forecast to move through the area Friday, which will bring the return to cooler conditions as we head into the weekend. For now the frontal passage looks to be fairly dry, as it will be starved of moisture. However, a few spot showers are possible across the northwestern parts of Mid-Missouri Friday evening through Saturday. Highs Saturday will only climb into the mid to upper 60s, with spot showers possible along and north of I-70. By Sunday and on into next week, the upper level ridge builds back over the area, which means the return of warmer air and afternoon highs in the 80s and nights warming into the 60s. Monday and Tuesday remain unseasonably warm with temperatures in the low 80s. More storm chances move in next Wednesday night with a cold front that will cool us down for the end of next week.
