Storm chance Tuesday, cooler air moves in Tuesday night

TONIGHT: Clouds stick around this evening and overnight with a slight shower chance. Temperatures will remain in the mid 60s through morning with winds out of the southeast up to 9 mph.

TUESDAY: We’ll see another warm day Tuesday with high temperatures near 80. A few showers and t-storms are possible in the morning but most will hold off until later in the day as a cold front approaches. These will increase from the northwest by late afternoon into the evening hours. There is a chance of a strong or severe storm, with a slightly better chance in our far northwestern counties by early evening. Isolated damaging wind or large hail are possible. The line of showers and t-storms will move through during the evening and out by 5 AM Wednesday as cooler air moves in.

EXTENDED: Once this front exits Mid-Missouri, we’ll be back into the upper 60s Wednesday afternoon as a Canadian high pressure builds into the region. Wednesday night will be the coolest night since April 30, with lows dipping into the upper 40s. The cool down will be brief, as we climb back into the mid to upper 70s as we close out this week as winds shift to the south. Heading into the weekend, another cold front will drop in from the north but will likely stall out somewhere north of I-70 Saturday. This will give us a chance of t-storms both Saturday and Sunday as it stalls then lifts back to the north Sunday into Monay. At this time, the best chance of storms this upcoming weekend will be north of I-70. High temperatures will reach the upper 70s Saturday to lower 80s Sunday.
