Rain chances bring cooler air by mid week

MONDAY: Outside of some spot showers Monday, most locations will be on the dry side. Following a cool start to the morning, shifting winds out of the southeast up to 10 mph will warm us into the upper 70s through the day. Many locations will come close to touching 80 degrees, despite the cloudy skies that will be in place.

TONIGHT: Clouds stick around this evening and overnight with a slight storm chance. Temperatures will remain in the mid 60s through morning with winds out of the southeast up to 8 mph.

EXTENDED: We’ll see another warm day Tuesday before a cold front rolls through the region, bringing a chance of some scattered showers and thunderstorms. We will have enough instability and shear that we could see some of these storms on the strong side. Once this front exits Mid-Missouri, we’ll be back into the upper 60s Wednesday afternoon as a Canadian high pressure builds into the region. The cool down will be brief, as we climb back into the mid to upper 70s as we close out this week.
