Spot showers into Monday, with warmer conditions

TONIGHT: We have another quiet night in store with clouds increasing from the south, as moisture is drawn into the region. This will keep temperatures a few degrees warmer, as we bottom out in the lower 60s south of Interstate 70. Areas north of 70 will see less cloud coverage and dip into the 50s through the night. In addition to the increasing clouds, a few spot showers are possible through the early morning hours into Monday morning. Any showers will be light in nature and will be confined to southeastern parts of the region. Winds through the night will be out of the east up to 9 mph.

MONDAY: Outside of some spot showers Monday, most locations will be on the dry side. Following a cool start to the morning, shifting winds out of the southeast up to 10 mph will warm us into the 70s through the day. Many locations will come close to if not touching 80 degrees, despite the cloudy skies that will be in place.

EXTENDED: We’ll see another warm day Tuesday before a cold front rolls through the region, bringing a chance of some scattered showers and thunderstorms. We will have enough instability and shear that we could see some of these storms on the strong side. There will be a brief window of severe weather expected, as the storms are expected to race out of the region. Currently a slight risk of severe weather is in place for far eastern Mid-Missouri. Once this front exits Mid-Missouri, we’ll be back into the upper 60s Wednesday afternoon as a Canadian high pressure builds into the region. The cool down will be brief, as we climb back into the mid to upper 70s as we close out this week.
