Boone Electric reports southwest Columbia outage

Boone Electric Cooperative reports a large power outage affecting about 900 customers in southwest Columbia.

The utility said on Twitter the outage was due to a trailer hailing a skid steer that came off the back of a truck. It hit the pole on Gillespie Bridge.

According to Boone Electric spokeswoman Meredith Hoenes, most of the area should have power restored by 4:10 p.m. Friday. The utility was sending crews to the Scott Boulevard/Bethany Drive and Bellview Drive area at about 2:30 p.m.
