Tracking a hot start to the week

Tonight: Skies remain clear as overnight lows fall just below 70 degrees. Winds remain out of the southeast at 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow: Winds raising back out of the south paired with clear skies lead to a steep increase in temperatures with highs back into the upper 90's. The heat index looks to surpass 100 degrees in some areas leading to dangerous heat if not properly hydrated.

Extended: A cold front from the northwest moves through Central Missouri Monday night bringing with it the chance for scattered storms. This will aid will a slight cooldown going into the rest of the week with highs into the lower 90's. Showers associated with this front will not help with dry conditions leading for an increase in severity by the end of the week for drought-like conditions.
