Tracking a cooler, less humid weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a chance of a spot storm, lows near 70.

TOMORROW: Decreasing clouds with lower humidity, highs in the lower to mid-80s.

EXTENDED: We're not feeling the effects of the cold front just yet as many of us have topped out around 90 with a heat index in the upper 90s to around 100. We finally feel a cool down tomorrow as winds are shifting to the north. Spot showers are possible through this evening, but nothing widespread into the overnight hours. Clouds will start to break up early, leaving us with sunshine and highs in the lower to mid-80s to start the weekend. Sunday is warmer, but we'll keep humidity in check with dew points in the 60s. Next week starts off hot and humid on Monday with a heat index approaching 100 again, but the upper high pressure that's been wobbling over the area will retreat far enough west over the Rockies to give us some needed relief on the humidity front by Tuesday. We'll stay rain-free for the most part with the exception of a storm or two along a front that slides south of us on Monday night. Temperatures remain near 90, but humidity should stay low with dew points in the lower 60s for much of next week. Next weekend looks hotter than normal again with highs in the low to mid-90s.
