Patrol: No shots, no injuries at evacuated Warrensburg hospital

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (AP) — Patients and staff were evacuated from a western Missouri hospital following a report of an armed man, but authorities say no shots were fired and no one was injured.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Andrew Bell says multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the report at the Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg around 9 a.m. Friday. Ambulances were at the ready. But just a couple of hours later, Bell gave the all-clear, saying it "was never an active shooter.”

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says officers arrested a man possibly connected to events at the hospital, though it hasn't explained how he is involved and say he was not near the facility. Warrensburg is about 60 miles southeast of Kansas City, Missouri.
