Tracking heat through Thursday, Relief possible by next weekend
TONIGHT: Another mild night in store for Mid-Missouri with temperatures above average for this time of year. We’ll dip down into the mid to upper 60s with winds shifting out of the south around 3-5 mph.
MONDAY: Temperatures warm quickly tomorrow morning, we’re into the low to mid 80s by lunchtimes. Things remain quiet on Monday, with an upper level ridge in place keeping us dry and warm through the evening.
EXTENDED: That same upper level ridge will be locked into place for much of the rest of this week, bringing us temperatures that are well above normal, feeling much more like late June as we close out the Summer season. However, there is the potential for some relief down the line. We’re tracking a wave of low pressure that will track across the northern plains which will drape a cold front across the Midwest bringing us a chance at some widespread rainfall, and cooler temperatures. There’s still some disagreement as to how far south that front gets, so make sure you stick to ABC 17 on air and online as this forecast continues to evolve over the next 7 days.
