Summer stubbornly holding on in Mid-Missouri

TODAY: We’ll be looking at a similar weather day on your Sunday as warm temperatures and humid conditions stick around. Clouds will increase once again as we head into the afternoon hours. We may be able to squeeze a shower or two this afternoon, but most of us look to stay dry as temperatures climb to the upper 80s and low 90s. Winds will be light out of the northeast for most of the day.

TONIGHT: Another quiet night as we close out the weekend. We’ll see mostly clear skies, allowing us to cool off into the mid to upper 60s for overnight lows. Winds will be light and variable for much of the night, so some of the low-lying areas could be looking at some fog developing by the morning hours.

EXTENDED: Summer will be holding on until the very end here in Mid-Missouri. An upper level ridge responsible for these warm temperatures will remain in place through the middle of the week. Temperatures will remain in the upper 80s to low 90s this week, with spotty afternoon storm chances Wednesday and Thursday. As this ridge begins to break down, a cold front will swing through the area bringing a more widespread shot at rain and cooler temperatures Thursday night into Friday. It will be feeling more like fall to kick off the first weekend of the season. Make sure to watch ABC 17 News for weather updates and check back here for the latest forecast.
