Two die in separate crashes in Mid-Missouri Friday

Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers responded to at least five crashes in mid-Missouri on Friday, and two of those resulted in fatalities, according to online crash reports.

Troopers responded to the 72000 block of Seed House Road in Tipton around 5:45 p.m. for a crash involving an all-terrain vehicle.

The crash report said Chester York, 78, of Tipton, was heading north on Seed House Road when the ATV started to slide off the gravel driveway and overturned.

York was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Troopers later responded to a multiple-vehicle crash in Morgan County around 8:15 p.m.

According to the crash report, Alan Anderson, 61, of Cole Camp, was following Ronald Williams, 62, of Smithton, on his motorcycle on U.S. 52 near Missouri Route 135.

Williams, also on a motorcycle, tried to turn right onto Route 135 when Anderson crashed into him from behind. Williams then crashed into a Jeep that was stopped at a stop sign.

Williams and the other driver suffered moderate injuries. Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
