3 men arrested after firing gun near Callaway County deputies at Carrington Pits recreation

Callaway County deputies said they arrested three men while patrolling the Carrington Pits recreation area Thursday afternoon.

Elijah Mayfield, 19, of Fulton, D’Metrius Austin, 21, of Fulton and Anson Robinson, 18, of Fulton were discovered around 3:35 p.m. at the Mark Twain National Forest property during a patrol.

A Sheriff’s deputy reported that the three men were armed, and one of them fired a gun.

Multiple deputies responded, along with agents from the Missouri Department of Conservation.

There were no reports of injuries.

Deputies arrested the men after allegedly finding marijuana, drug paraphernalia and counterfeit money at the scene.

Austin was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, forgery and delivery of a controlled substance.

Robinson was charged with possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon and delivery of a controlled substance.

Mayfield was arrested on the charges of tampering with evidence, possession of marijuana and littering.
