Woman sentenced to decade in prison for role in Audrain County death

A St. Louis-area woman will serve a 10-year prison sentence for her role in an Audrain County death.

Judge Wesley Dalton sentenced Arline Diedrich of St. Ann on a charge of second-degree drug trafficking on Aug. 24. Diedrich, who pleaded guilty in June, will receive credit toward that sentence for the year she’s spent in the county jail.

Diedrich was arrested in relation to the death of Leon Wilder on July 10, 2017. Audrain County deputies found Wilder’s body near the county border with Boone County. Authorities claim Wilder was shot, and also arrested Richard Henry and Justin Traughber for Wilder’s death. Law enforcement said they believe Henry was the one that shot Wilder, after a drug deal involving all four.

Prosecutors dropped five other charges, including murder, against Diedrich.

Traughber also pleaded guilty to drug trafficking in June. He is set to be in court on Sept. 28 for sentencing.

A Warren County jury will decide on Henry’s case at a later date. Henry faces first-degree murder, but prosecutors have said that they do not intend to seek the death penalty.
