No decision made by City Council of Jefferson City on employee pay raises
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The City Council of Jefferson City has tabled a bill that would give city employees a proposed pay increase.
During the Tuesday council meeting, council members expressed concerns over the cost of the bill.
During the meeting, Mayor Carrie Tergin wanted to pass the bill saying the city was losing employees not just to the private sector but to other city and county governments.
Councilman Scott Spencer said that since this Tergin last budget and she doesn't have to worry about the aftermath of the next budget.
After discussing the bill for nearly an hour, the bill was moved back to the informal calendar for more discussion.
