Temperatures touch 90 today with storms possible tonight
THURSDAY: Morning fog will lift by 9 AM and we’ll see a mix of clouds and sun. High temperatures will reach near 90 with heat indices reaching the mid 90s. Winds will stay under 10 mph from the west-southwest. After a dry afternoon, a storm system will begin to approach from the north by evening as an upper level wave moves through.
TONIGHT: Storms will increase into the area after 8-9 PM Thursday from the west, some of which could be strong to severe, with the threat of damaging winds and large hail. The strongest storms will happen earlier in the night as the severe threat diminishes greatly past midnight. By morning temperatures will hold into the upper 60s.
EXTENDED: Storms will decrease Friday morning with only spot showers possible Friday afternoon, behind a trailing cold front. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s Friday. For the weekend, Saturday looks dry with highs in the upper 80s. After a brief period of dry time this weekend, spot storm chances will increase Sunday afternoon, with the better chance of rain Sunday night into Monday. A cold front passes through Monday afternoon with decreasing rain chances. High temperatures will come in below the seasonal averages through Wednesday, reaching the low to mid 80s.
