Fog and heat Thursday, storm chance returns

TONIGHT: Spotty showers decrease early with temperatures dropping to near 70 with mostly cloudy skies. Winds will be nearly calm with areas of fog developing by morning. Pockets of dense fog are possible.

THURSDAY: Morning fog will lift by 9 AM and we’ll see a mix of clouds and sun. High temperatures will reach near 90 with heat indices reaching the mid 90s. Winds will stay under 10 mph from the west-southwest.

EXTENDED: There is a chance of showers and t-storms Thursday night into Friday as an upper level wave moves through, along with a trailing cold front. These storms will increase after 8-9 PM Thursday from the west, some of which could be strong to severe as they move into the area with the threat of damaging winds and large hail. These will decrease Friday morning with only spot showers possible Friday afternoon. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s Friday. For the weekend, Saturday looks dry with highs in the upper 80s. After a brief period of dry time this weekend, spot storm chances will increase Sunday afternoon, with the better chance of rain Sunday night into Monday. A cold front passes through Monday afternoon with decreasing rain chances. High temperatures will come in below the seasonal averages through Wednesday, reaching the low to mid 80s.
