Remaining cloudy & unsettled into the weekend

THIS AFTERNOON: Another round of showers is moving northeast along I-44 early this afternoon, with the bulk of Mid-MO seeing mostly cloudy skies, with spot rain shower/storm chances through this afternoon. Most will stay dry. Day time highs will hold in the low 80s, but a few places could see peeks of sunshine which may bump some of our temperatures up a few degrees.

TONIGHT: Spotty showers decrease tonight with temperatures dropping into the upper 60s. With winds light out of the southwest by morning, some patchy fog will settle into the area decreasing visibility.

EXTENDED: Thursday looks drier and much warmer as we reach the mid to upper 80s with partly sunny skies. There is a chance of showers and t-storms Thursday night into Friday as an upper level wave moves through, along with a trailing cold front. These storms will increase after 8-9 PM Thursday from the west, some of which could be strong to severe as they move into the area with the threat of damaging winds and large hail. Storms will continue for Friday morning’s commute, but will begin to taper off by Friday afternoon. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s Friday. For the weekend, Saturday looks dry with highs in the upper 80s. After a brief period of dry time this weekend, spot storm chances will increase Sunday afternoon, with the better chance of rain Sunday night into Monday. Into the beginning of next week, rain chances increase Monday with the passage of another cold front. Watch ABC 17 News on air, and online for the latest up to date weather forecasts.
