Morgan County police confirm death investigation
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Tuesday that it is actively investigating the death of a 29-year-old man.
Versailles officers responded to Williamson Street Sunday in relation to a man with a gunshot wound. However, when officers arrived, they found Justin Wittrock already dead from a single gunshot wound.
Wittrock’s girlfriend, Angela Keefe, was charged with felony possession of a firearm. She and Wittrock were living together at the time of the incident. She’s being held in the Morgan County Adult detention center.
An autopsy was conducted in Columbia at 9 a.m. Tuesday. ABC 17 has reached out to the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office for the results.
