On and off rain showers pressing across Mid-Missouri, lasts through Wednesday

THIS AFTERNOON: We’re tracking a line of showers pushing across Mid-MO this morning, mainly east of HWY 65 and along and north of I-70. This will continue to press off to the northeast. As the afternoon approaches, we can expect some of these showers to strengthen into thunderstorms especially just south of and along I-70. Temperatures will remain in the 70s.

TONIGHT: Rain chances decrease overnight with cloudy skies as temperatures drop into the upper 60s. Winds will be out of the southeast up to 8 mph.

EXTENDED: Rain will decrease Tuesday evening but another round of showers and t-storms look likely early in the day Wednesday, decreasing by evening with high temperatures near 80 degrees. Total rainfall amounts through Wednesday are expected to reach near an inch north of I-70 with some areas south of I-70 reaching close to 2 inches with pockets of 3 inches possible. Thursday looks drier and much warmer as we reach the mid to upper 80s. Another upper level wave will track through Friday and again for the weekend, keeping storm chances in the forecast each day as high temperatures reach the mid to upper 80s.
