Firefighters respond to early morning fire north of Columbia

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A fire north of Columbia early Tuesday morning is blamed for thousands of dollars in damage.

The Boone County Fire Protection District responded to the fire in the 1400 block of E. Gallup Mills Road around 6:35 a.m. Firefighters said a detached three-vehicle garage was on fire when crews arrived at the scene.

Asst. Fire Chief Gale Blomenkamp told ABC 17 News the fire destroyed the garage. The fire is estimated to have caused $250,000 in damages.

Firefighters reported no injuries.
