Mizzou shortstop enters transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou shortstop Josh Day announced he will be entering the transfer portal on Monday.

Day transferred to MU from Copiah Lincoln Community College ahead of the 2021 season. In his first year with the Tigers he started in 43 out of Mizzou's 44 games and batted .250, driving in 21 runs and leading the team in 24 drawn walks.

Through the 2022 season, Day continued to be a spark at the plate for head coach Steve Bieser's group. He batted .340 overall in that senior season.

In a Twitter post day said, "just want to thank the coaches, the players, and the University of Missouri for giving me the opportunity to represent the University these past two years. It was an honor to be apart of a great place. With that being said, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal. Thank you!"
