Gates brings on former Mizzou PG to join staff

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Former Mizzou point guard Phil Pressey announced Friday that he will be returning to Columbia to join Coach Dennis Gates' coaching staff.

Pressey finished his career as MU's all-time leader is assist with 580 and tied for the career lead in steals. He was also apart of Mizzou's 2012 Big 12 Tournament Championship team.

After his time at Mizzou Arena, he started his NBA career in Boston in 2013 before bouncing around to a few different NBA teams. After that, he spent majority of his professional career overseas.

Pressey said in his announcement Friday that he looks forward to showing the team how they can improve on mistakes that he made during his playing days.

He will join the team as a graduate assistant.
