Hot & humid conditions stick around into Saturday

***Heat Advisory until 8 PM Saturday for most of Mid-Missouri***

FRIDAY: Hot and humid conditions will once again be a problem into the afternoon hours. Afternoon highs will top out near 100 degrees, with heat indices near 105. We could see a few spot storms into the afternoon hours, but most locations will stay on the dry side. Winds will shift out of the southwest into the afternoon hours, keeping the hot and humid air trapped in place. Drink plenty of water if you are going to be outdoors.

TONIGHT: Under mostly clear skies, temperatures drop back into the 70s. It will remain dry, but muggy with winds out of the southeast from 4-8 mph.

EXTENDED: The heat wave continues through the weekend, with highs in the low to mid 90s and heat indices 100-105 through Sunday. Our next chance of storms arrives Saturday afternoon with widely scattered storms possible. Severe storms are not expected. Storms are possible Saturday night into early Sunday morning, pushing south of I-70 early Sunday. As a cold front moves south Monday, we’ll continue to see a chance of storms and temperatures will cool down a bit, to near 90 Monday. Tuesday looks dry with highs near 90, dropping to the upper 80s Wednesday with a slight storm chance. The weather pattern remains active into the second part of next week. Thursday a developing cluster of storms could impact our southern counties through the afternoon, bringing some much needed rainfall.
