Court documents reveal how Columbia man was charged with burglary

A Columbia man is charged with second-degree burglary after court documents allege he entered into a home without permission.

Columbia police responded to the 1100 block of Paquin Street on June 13 for a burglary report.

When officers arrived the victim told police he found four people inside his apartment who weren’t supposed to be there, nor had permission to be inside. The victim said when he opened the door, three people ran out of the home.

The fourth person, Ronald Eversley, was hiding in the bathroom refusing to leave, court documents said. The victim and Eversley got into a physical altercation, leaving the victim with minor injuries.

Police said Eversley has committed crimes in the past, including burglary.
