Woman killed, four others injured in Camden County crash

A woman was killed and four other people were hurt in a Thursday morning crash in Camden County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, a van crossed the center line on Route Z and struck another vehicle head-on around 8:30 a.m.

The driver of the van was flown to a hospital in Columbia. The Camden County medical examiner pronounced the passenger, 24-year-old Brittany Barfield, dead at the scene. Three other children in the van suffered minor injuries.

The crash report indicates Barfield and the driver were not wearing seat belts, but the children were.

The driver of the other vehicle also suffered minor injuries.
