Missing man found safe in Cole County field

A man was found safe after Cole County Deputies were told of a possible sighting of a missing man in the area of 2200 Route B on Tuesday.

Detectives were told a white man was seen on Sunday on the reporting person’s property.

Detectives, along with the property owner, searched around the property and located a white man in a distant field. Detectives were able to identify the person as Scott Lewis, who was the man reported as missing.

The press release says Lewis was disoriented and very weak but was taken to a local hospital. He had insect bites, cuts and scrapes, but his life is not in danger.
