Boone County officials identify homicide victim

UPDATE: Boone County deputies have identified the woman as Elise’ise Q. McNeal, 34, of Columbia.

An autopsy has revealed she died from gunshot wounds.

Deputies found her dead inside a home in the 6100 block of Hatton Chapel Road on Friday morning. According to law enforcement, they were following up on a Thursday report of stolen guns from that home.

That’s when they discovered the victim and began treating the death as suspicious.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office is set to complete an autopsy Monday on a woman who was found dead inside a Boone County home last week.

ABC 17 News reported, deputies are investigating the death on Hatton Chapel Road as suspicious.

Deputies confirm they believe the death is related to a shootout near Springfield, but would not release any specifics.

ABC 17 News reported, Jason Anderson was taken into custody Thursday after exchanging gunfire with a Christian County deputy.

Authorities searched Anderson’s car and found dozens of rifles and shotguns, as well as thousands of rounds of ammunition. Court documents suggest Anderson lived in the same block of Hatton Chapel Road where the woman’s body was found.

Deputies said the autopsy is set to happen at 10 a.m. Monday and the sheriff’s department plans to release more details upon its completion.
