Emergency crews respond to four heat-related calls in Columbia

Emergency crews in Boone County and Columbia responded to at least four different calls for heat-related illnesses on Friday.

One girl was treated on scene at Douglass Park for a heat-related illness but didn’t go to the hospital.

Boone County EMS said three people were treated at Finger Lakes State Park off Highway 63 North early Friday afternoon for heat-related complications.

Two of them were children from the same group, and the other was an adult. ABC 17 News crews on scene saw two people get taken to the hospital.

One bystander said one of the children may not have been drinking enough water.
