UPDATE: Teen injured in shooting on Shamrock Drive

UPDATE 3:45 A.M.: Columbia police confirmed a 15-year-old boy was shot in northeast Columbia early Thursday morning.

Emergency crews took the teenager to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers also found shell casings on Kelsey Drive, according to officers on scene. Police also say the boy was shot outside and some neighbors nearby brought him inside.

Police said they do not have any suspects at this time.

Authorities are still searching the area.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police responded to a possible shooting in northeast Columbia early Thursday morning.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of Shamrock Drive.

Police have taped off a large perimeter in the area, blocking off parts of Shamrock Drive and Kelsey Drive.

ABC 17 News saw officers talking to several people on scene. An ambulance and firefighters were also on scene.
