Arrest made after car crashed into building on Walnut Street

A man will appear in court today after he crashed into a building on E. Walnut Street in downtown Columbia Sunday.

Neko Smith allegedly ran into the building with his car and hit the wall of the building and a grill. He then drove away westbound on Broadway. Officers were able to locate Smith two days later on Pine Drive. He was arrested late Tuesday night for felony leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and felony property damage in the first degree.

Smith’s bail is set at $3,000, and he will appear in court Wednesday at 1:30.
