Man arrested after smashing windshield with shovel

Ralawndo Akers was arrested on Friday after he allegedly smashed the windshield of a car with a shovel while his girlfriend was inside. Officers responded to the call in the 1800 block of Parkland Boulevard on Wednesday where they found a shovel and the vehicle with a broken windshield on the driver’s side. The victim sustained cuts from the glass shards.

Officers found Akers on Friday at the Red Roof Inn on Texas Avenue sitting in a parked vehicle. They also found substances that tested positive for methamphetamine.

Akers was arrested for third-degree domestic assault, possession of a controlled substance and second-degree tampering.
