UPDATE: Investigators do not consider fire at Thirsty Hog Saloon to be suspicious

UPDATE 6/6 5:30 p.m.: ABC 17 News confirmed the Missouri Division of Fire Safety is investigating Tuesday night’s fire at the Thirsty Hog Saloon. The agency confirms the establishment was closed at the time of the fire and it is not considered to be suspicious.

The Callaway County Health Department said local public health departments respond to fires to assure that food safety is protected.The department said all food items from the Thirsty Hog Saloon will be taken to a local landfill for disposal due to the fire, smoke and water damage once the State Fire Marshall has concluded any investigation and insurance companies have been contacted by the owners.

UPDATE 6/5 11:45 pm: The Assistant Chief with Central Callaway Fire Protection District confirms the fire started in the attic of the Thirsty Hog Saloon. An investigator is headed to the scene to look into the cause of the fire. The flames were put out late Tuesday night, but firefighters are currently monitoring for hot spots. Crews are expected to remain on scene for a couple of hours overnight.

ORIGINAL: Multiple fire departments are battling a fire at the Thirsty Hog Saloon in Fulton.

The Fulton Fire Department, Central Callaway Fire Protection District, South Callaway Fire Protection District, New Bloomfield Fire Department and Holts Summit Fire Department were on scene Tuesday night.

ABC 17 News has a crew on site and is working to find out what caused the fire and how much damage was done.
