Tracking a drier day ahead and clearing overnight

TODAY: Thunderstorms this morning will pass by to our east before sunrise. An isolated shower or storm may redevelop this afternoon, but any severe threat will end as the early morning storms exit. Generally drier weather, with a partly cloudy sky is forecast for much of your day. Expect a high in the upper 70s.

TONIGHT: Clearing and drying conditions will settle in overnight, dropping temperatures into the upper 50s by early Thursday morning.

EXTENDED: By the time we get to Thursday afternoon, the potential for showers and storms begins to creep back up. The best chance on Thursday looks like it may center around late Thursday, and extend into Friday. This first round looks like it may be a more direct shot at rain in mid MO. A second round rolls through later on Friday, bringing a better chance for thunderstorms, but to the southern half of the viewing area. The best chance for severe storms looks to fall well to our south. Expect highs in the upper 70s both Thursday and Friday. Conditions clear heading into the weekend, as upper level ridging begins to setup for the long haul. We're mostly sunny with high 70s on Saturday, with temps jumping into the 80s under partly cloudy skies on Sunday. Temperatures are on a warming trend through early next week.
