Organizations ordered to turn over documents in Gov. Greitens’ case
A Cole County judge ordered two groups to turn over documents in a case involving Gov. Eric Greitens on Tuesday morning.
Lawyers for A New Missouri, Inc. and Greitens for Missouri argued last week that both organizations shouldn’t have to present documents to a Special House Investigative Committee looking into allegations of criminal misconduct against the Republican governor.
Division I Circuit Judge Jon E. Beetem ordered both organizations to turn over the requested documents by Thursday.
Greitens for Missouri will have to turn over the following documents:
All documents and communications to, form, about, or relating to A New Missouri, Inc. or any employee, agent, contractor, or associate of A New Missouri, Inc. All documents describing policies or guidance concerning coordination or communication between Greitens for Missouri and A New Missouri, Inc. and employees or agents of A New Missouri, Inc.
A New Missouri, Inc. will have to give over documents that relate to the following topics:
All receipts for paid media, including but not limited to television, radio, print, and social media advertisements. All content of any paid media purchased by A New Missouri, Inc., including but not limited to television, radio print, and social media advertisements. All communication regarding paid media, including but not limited to television, radio, print, and social media advertisements. All documents and communications to, from, about, or relating to Eric Greitens, Greitens for Missouri, the Greitens campaign, or any employee, agent, contractor, or associate of Eric Greitens or Greitens for Missouri. All documents describing policies or guidance concerning coordination or communications between A New Missouri, Inc. and Greitens for Missouri and employees or agents of Greitens for Missouri.
“We are pleased that Judge Beetem protected the identities of supporters of A New Missouri, and not surprised that after the House withdrew 13 of its 18 requests, the Judge ordered us to produce redacted documents. We are considering our options for an appeal.” Catherine Hanaway, attorney for Greitens for Missouri and A New Missouri said.
State lawmakers on the committee subpoenaed both groups on May 3.
