Jefferson City woman accelerates into Lake Ozark pedestrians, hits deputy with vehicle door

According to a press release, Camden County Deputies saw Lindsay Rush, 38, from Jefferson City, Mo., driving carelessly through a crowd of pedestrians on Sweet William Road in Lake Ozark on Friday.

Rush was told by deputies to pull her vehicle to the side of the road, but she refused to stop and continued to drive recklessly through the pedestrian traffic.

A deputy on foot tried to approach Rush’s vehicle but was hit by the driver’s side door.

Rush was showing visible signs of being impaired.

Rush accelerated and again put pedestrians in danger. Pedestrians and deputies were forced to move out of Rush’s path to avoid being hit by her vehicle. No one was injured.

Rush was eventually stopped and arrested for second-degree assault.
