Power outage affects more than 300 in Columbia

More than 300 Columbia Water and Light customers experienced a power outage on Monday. ABC 17 News confirmed the circuit was tripped because of a burnt riser behind Ruby Tuesday near the mall.

According to Columbia Water and Light’s outage map, about 360 customers were without power. Service was later restored by 1 p.m.

The outage impacted traffic signals in the area of Stadium Boulevard, I-70 Drive Southwest and Business Loop 70 West.

The city confirmed utility crews were sent to the scene to fix the issue.
