More like summer with daily storm chances

TONIGHT: With passing clouds tonight temperatures will remain mild only dropping into the mid 60s by morning. Winds will be light out of the southeast up to 8 mph.

THURSDAY: It will be another very warm, humid day with high temperatures in the upper 80s and south winds under 10 mph. There is a slight storm chance mainly south of I-70.

EXTENDED: A better chance of rain arrives as we head into Friday. Storms in northwest Missouri in the early morning are expected to drop to the south, affecting along and west of HWY 63 in the morning. These will continue to weaken and end by noon. Clouds will thin out and temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 80s Friday afternoon. There is a slight chance of new storms popping up in the afternoon and there is a marginal severe threat with these in our far northwestern counties. The main threats look to be damaging wind and large hail. Saturday will be hot and humid with high temperatures nearing 90 and heat indices up to 95 degrees. As a weak cold front passes through Saturday afternoon we could see a few thunderstorms develop with the best chance east of HWY 63. There will be plenty of dry time on Saturday during the day. The cold front will be very weak, which won’t drop temperatures at all through the weekend as winds quickly shift back to the south. Outside of the rain, Memorial Day weekend is looking to remain on the toasty side, as highs climb into the upper 80s under a mixture of sun and clouds and nights in the upper 60s.
