Summer like weather pattern continues across the 7-day

WEDNESDAY: After a mild morning, temperatures will quickly heat up, reaching the upper 80s in the afternoon under mostly sunny skies. It will feel a bit humid with the heat index near 90 in the afternoon. Winds will come in from the southeast up to 8 mph. A pop up shower is possible in our far southwestern counties this afternoon.

TONIGHT: With passing clouds tonight temperatures will remain mild only dropping into the mid 60s by morning. Winds will be light out of the southeast up to 6 mph.

EXTENDED: Thursday is looking to be on the drier side but we can’t rule out a possible shower or storm during the afternoon, mainly west of HWY 63. Lake of the Ozarks and to the south is looking the the best place to see some storms tomorrow afternoon. However a better chance of rain arrives as we head into the weekend and the upper level ridge begins to break down. As the ridge breaks down a cold front tracking through Mid-Missouri will fire off some showers and storms. With higher instability just to the northwest on Friday we could see a few stronger storms in are northern counties late Friday afternoon. The main threats look to be gusty conditions and large hail. Friday night into Saturday moisture feeding the area from the southwest could continue to ignite overnight storms. As a weak cold front passes through by Saturday afternoon we could see a few more showers and thunderstorms continue, but there still will be plenty of dry time on Saturday during the day. The cold front will be very weak, which won’t drop temperatures at all through the weekend as winds quickly shift back to the south. Outside of the rain, Memorial Day weekend is looking to remain on the toasty side, as highs climb into the upper 80s under a mixture of sun and clouds.
