Crash in Maries County leaves driver dead, passenger injured

A 2008 Ford Crown Victoria headed westbound on Highway 42 overturned on Monday, killing one man and injuring another.

The vehicle, driven by 44-year-old Daryl Burke, of Camdenton, crashed after the driver “failed to negotiate a turn.”

The vehicle went off the left side of the road, overturned and ejected Burke. Burke was flown to Capitol Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, where he was pronounced dead. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Kory Burke, 19, of St. Clair, was taken to Phelps County Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
