House Speaker ends “successful” legislative session with press conference
“This legislative session has truly been a history session,” Majority House Speaker Todd Richardson said. “This session has been the most successful implement of conservative forms.”
Richardson also complimented the people in the Senate.
Richardson said the House focused on enacting policies and bringing, “good paying jobs for the men and women of Missouri.”
“The list of accomplishments this year is the only testament needed to show the hard work and professionalism of the men and women of this House.”
Richardson listed what he viewed as accomplishments during this legislative session.
He included tax cuts, a balanced budget that fully funds education, restoring cuts to higher education, enacting 21st-century labor reforms and making the government more accountable, among others.
Richardson noted this was the first time this year they were able to get something done reforming tax credits.
“People have been advocating for tax reform long before this governor was in office,” Richardson added.
Richardson said these accomplishments put Missouri on one of the best economic footings in the country.
“I’m happy with what we were able to accomplish,” Richardson said.
Despite the investigations surrounding Governor Eric Greitens, Richardson said, “I don’t believe there was any distraction this session.”
