Jefferson City council unanimously votes to construct new VA clinic

After a public hearing that lasted less than 15 minutes, the Jefferson City council approved the construction of a new VA clinic without objection.

The 3.35 acre plot of land sits at the corner of W. Edgewood and Wildwood Drives. The new clinic will be located at 3430 W. Edgewood, just over a mile from the current VA clinic at 2707 W. Edgewood.

The new clinic will have more space, equipment, and will help cut down travel time for some of those who have needed to visit the VA Hospital in Columbia, according Ward 4 councilman Carlos Graham.

“I think it’s going to give you a bigger space to serve more clients,” Graham said Monday. “I think more opportunities will lend itself in this bigger facility.”
