Storm chances and warm weather

TONIGHT: Showers and t-storms will end by 10 PM in most areas but a few are possible near I-44 in the late-night hours. Low temperatures will drop to near 60 with partly to mostly cloudy skies.

FRIDAY: Afternoon temperatures will warm into the upper 70s to lower 80s with warmest temperatures west of HWY 63. There is a chance of showers and t-storms mainly east of HWY 63 from morning through early afternoon but no severe storms are expected. Winds will come in from the northeast at 6-10 mph.

EXTENDED: The next chance of rain comes Saturday morning as decaying storms from Kansas drift east. Areas west of HWY 63 have the best chance of getting this rain but many areas east could stay dry. Clouds will break up in the afternoon and temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s Saturday with more humidity due to southerly winds. Spot storms are possible Saturday afternoon and overnight as a cold front slowly moves east. Rain looks more likely early Sunday morning north of I-70 but the afternoon looks drier. An isolated storm can’t be ruled out Sunday afternoon but most of the day looks dry and warm. High temperatures will stay in the lower 80s Sunday and Monday, dropping into the lower 60s at night.
