Isolated rain chances through the weekend

THURSDAY: The summer-like warmth continues as we reach the low to mid 80s under partly cloudy skies and northeast winds at 4-8 mph. Showers and t-storms look to increase this afternoon, but will remain isolated in nature.

TONIGHT: With partly cloudy skies temperatures will drop towards 60 this evening with a light breeze out of the east.

EXTENDED: We’ll heat up more for the end of the week, reaching the mid to upper 80s Friday as the dry weather continues. Storms in Nebraska and northeast Kansas Friday night could drop to the southeast and affect parts of MId-Missouri Saturday morning with the best chance west of HWY 63. We will begin to dry out by mid to late morning. Clouds will break up in the afternoon and temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s Saturday with more humidity due to southerly winds. A few more storms are possible Saturday afternoon but will become more likely Saturday night into Sunday morning as a cold front approaches. Once the cold front finally makes it way through later in the day on Sunday we will see temperatures cool back into the lower 80s Sunday as winds shift back to the north.
